Useful Details About Raising Your Children

By Steven Spellborgh

Children always love to play. As a parent engaging in their plays or playing with them helps them learn new skills. Engaging them in role plays will also help them accept who they are. Sharing and playing with them always portrays great family ties. The ties become even stronger when the activity is done by both parents.

It always pains any parents to see their kids suffer. Just like the bible asks which of you if his son asks for bread will give him stone or if the he asks for fish will give him a snake? The answer to these questions is always none. Therefore as a parent you need to do a number of things to ensure that your kids are not affected by your dysfunctional marriage.

It does not mean that parents have the answers to everything but the fact that they are there they help their kids grow. There influence can be emotional, physical, cognitive or social. Giving play attention, encouraging and planning for it creates a strong bond between the parent and the kids.

Kids are usually physically comfortable in the midst of family. They are commonly referred to as learning machines until they are fully trained act as young adults and become limited to tasks that they are requested to act upon. Due to this their relationship with their parents needs to be built on trust.

On the other hand you might have been brought up in a liberal and pampering kind of way and you may want to be strict with your kids. The predicament of seeking advice from your parents or other parents is the fact that they will always consider their parenting methods as perfect. This is because every parent thinks that he or she is perfect.

Another mistake that parents do while in disagreement with each other is that they pass their relationship unhappiness to their kids. This trait is not only common to parents but also to all human beings. It is a trait where every human being will look for someone to dispatch their negative emotions into.

Involving kids with your work and playing with them brings out positive emotions. Apart from enjoying the activities as a parent you will also be healed. The kind of bond developed during this time is very strong and cannot be broken. However in modern day life, keeping your kids engaged is a huge task. This is due to the evolving technology that has outdone most natural games that used to be played by kids.

Other parents tend to ignore their kids desires while they are experiencing relationship troubles. As a parent your responsibility is to always meet the needs of your kids regardless of anything. Therefore, avoid ignoring their mental, physical, spiritual, emotional or relational needs.

In some countries, like Ireland, respect for family unity is also a fundamental provision in the Constitution. Despite these obligations, many states employ draconian measures to enforce immigration control, resulting in the effective separation of families. In Ireland, this occurs at the deportation stage when a parent is detained and the children are placed in state care.

Such measures have been known to last up to two months. The effect of this separation on young children has not been documented. In its recent exchange with the UN Human Rights Committee, the Irish government conceded that children had been separated from their parents as a consequence of deportation.

In most cultures, girls are also somewhat more attuned than boys to the need to inhibit emotional displays that might hurt others feelings. This is especially true for girls from cultures such as India, in which females are expected to be deferential and to express only socially appropriate emotions . These findings obviously are consistent with the gender stereotypes that girls are more likely both to try to protect others feelings and to be more emotional than boys. Experts have abolished the concept of perfect parenting citing that temperament, behavior and activities of a kid determines the style of parenting imposed. They have classified three types of parenting styles. These parenting styles will help you improve your methods of parenting.

Affluent parents tend to pressure their children to excel both academically and in extracurricular activities. At the same time, these parents often provide their children with little support. For example, due to the career demands of the parents and their kids many after-school activities, family time is diminished in many high-income families. In addition, because of the parents dual careers, many preteens from upper-income families are home alone after school, unsupervised, for several hours a week

Undocumented kids are also sometimes separated from their parents on child-protection grounds. Although such measures generally have a stronger legal basis than the cases just described. Some cases include court oversight and there may be evidence of discrimination.

Ensure that you prioritize their needs regardless of what your spouse does. While experiencing relationship wrangles it is important to teach your kids how to pray and pray with them regularly. Ensure that it is not hypocritical to have a good relationship with God even if your marriage is broken.

The only way you can keep your kids engaged in their play is by preparing for a number of activities to engage to. These activities need to be more fun than the latest technologies. More so, you can make it a norm or tradition of your family to engage to a certain activity at a particular time. For Instance you can choose to play a board game, watch a movie and later ask questions about it or form a book club where you read a book together. Introducing reading to your children at a tender age helps them grow loving reading hence helping them in school.

As a parent, you may find it difficult to pull through reading as an activity. But what you do not know is that when children are young they always look forward to time spent with their parents. For this reason they will do anything including reading to ensure that you participate with them. The fact that you will be sharing time together with them brings a lot of love and contentment. Strengthen that bond more by ensuring that you do not miss any schedules activities or time to play with them.
